Geisha progress

First of all I want to say a big welcome to my new followers! It's lovely to log on and see that there are some new people reading my blog.

So, onto the Geisha. Well I have been working, albeit rather reluctantly, on her. I'm hoping that the more I stitch the better I will feel about her. Thanks to all of you who have been cheering me on with her, it really does motivate me, and I  need all the motivation I can get for this design! lol
This is where I was with her last time I posted...

Here's my progress so far.....

I'm quite surprised at how much I've actually done! I'm still not loving her, and it doesn't help that threads seem to be breaking and fraying quite easily, they really don't seem to be the usual Dimensions quality. Anyway, onwards and upwards - or in this case downwards, as that seems to be the direction the stitching is taking me!

I'm off to get the sewing machine out and have a little play with it. Hopefully I will have a new Tangled Threads finish to show you on Monday.

Until next time...happy stitching!

Rhona

Awww, I absolutely love this design. Why don't you want to work on it?
Hope you carry on, cos it's on my too stitch heap and seeing you work on it might inspire me to get started!

Hi

Lovely progress on your geisha, her colours are lovely.

Your piece is looking so beautiful! I'm with you on the disappointment in quality, I've felt that way on a few pre-kitted pieces I've done. But the work you've produced so far looks fantastic...so don't give up!

Not another Geisha with a problem?!!! Well, she does look great so far Rhona! Although I don't use it, have you tried Thread Heaven? I've heard other stitchers use it for fraying threads.

YES! Geisha progress :-) Thank you. Lovely colors. I was checking with the original picture to see which part exactly was stitched on and I was wondering..the red cording in the middle of the obi (belt)...I was surprised to see in your actual stitching progress that they don't leave much space for you to stitch it, do they? Or do you have to apply it afterwards? Anyhow, I am really enjoying this progress ! Have fun (and hopefully the threads won't fray anymore). Ann

wow - you have done loads especially considering you're not enjoying it! That's annoying that on top of it all the thread isn't behaving :-( If you have some Thread Heaven handy I would give it a try, I've only ever used it on metallics but it might help for this? Regular beeswax does the same thing too apparently if you have that instead. Good luck with it & keep on going! Looking forward to seeing your new make :-)
