Just for fun…. (giveaway)

Here’s a bit of fun for a snowy Monday afternoon.

If you look at the clock on your computer and wait for one whole minute to pass, it seems quite a long time  doesn’t it? (Go on…try it!)

So here’s the million dollar cross stitch question…..how many stitches can you do in one minute? Five? Ten? Twelve? I was quite surprised at what the average number is….and I’m not going to tell you, well not just yet anyway!

So here’s my challenge to you -  see how many of those little X’s you can do in one minute then come back and leave a comment here telling me how many you managed. And to make it a bit more fun, I will email the chart for this design to the person (or persons) who stitch the same number of stitches per minute as I do.

I’ll announce the winner  and what the average number of stitches is, one week from today Monday 4th February2013.

Have fun…and set those stop-watches!!!

That was nerve-wracking to be timed! After three tries when my floss didn't knot up on the back or slip out of the needle, I finally did 8 stitches, but those were only slanted one way, so I guess that's actually 4 full stitches!

Oh my word. I only did 6 full stitches...no wonder I never finish anything, I'm so slow!!!

It was a fun question, especially as I would have thought it was more than that! I thought it was the fact I watched TV as I stitch that made me so slow.

I asked hubby to count me and managed only 9 which were of the same colour in various parts, not in a line, and on 18 count aida. Isn't the size of the fabric playing some part?I am faster on bigger counts.AriadnefromGreece!

I did it twice to get an idea and both times I did 8 per minute.
What an interesting tidbit, I have never even thought about it.

7-8 three times on 40 count fabric. I will have to try larger fabric for fun. Hmm, still 8 on 18 count fabric!! So hard to break the 8! I get all shaky and stuff. If you can hit more than 8 you are fast!!

I'm averaging 5 but I am working on a HAED. But it was 5 whether I was working on a block of colour or moving around a bit.

I tried this last night and did 10!
It was 10 in a line, on Aida, all one colour though...
