Don't you just hate it when.....

...progress comes to a screeching halt? I'm soooo close to finishing Simple Treasures but I have run out of yet another thread colour....and of course, none of the threads I have in my stash match.  I guess Dimensions must use their own threads. Sigh. Let's hope their customer service is as quick at sending out threads this week as it was last week!

Not too much to do....

The back stitching is worth the hassle. Doesn't the seahorse look amazing!

Love it, love it, love it and can't wait to complete it.

Here's something that I did manage to complete this week...

 ...a cute little scissor holder...

A big thank you to Bronwyn from Red Brolly for sharing her pattern You can find the pattern and instruction here.   I used French knots instead of beads as I couldn't be bothered faffing around finding beads and having them scatter everywhere, which always happens when I work with beads. The result is pretty much the same, but I'm not vacuuming up beads for the next three weeks! :)

And now on to some more cuties (well I think they're cute anyway!)....

...mug rugs! These designs are in this months World of Cross Stitching magazine (issue 213) and are perfect for stitching for a Mother's day gift....just don't let her get tea stains on them! ;)

Until next time...happy stitching!
Rhona

Your simple treasures is actually a great treasure :) looks very beautiful, like a painting.
cute scissor cover!! I saw your latest design on online preview of the magazine. They are lovely as always!! The picture indicates, that the mug is to be kept next to the mug rug than on it ;)

I need to stop watching your blog. Every time you post a picture of this gorgeous project it makes me want to do it haha. Beautiful progress. I agree the back stitching makes that seahorse adorable! Sorry about running out of threads. That always scares me when working with kits.

Oh how frustrating!!! It is looking amazing though :-) The scissor keep is very cute (I have had similar problems with beads involving hoovering the grass in the back yard when I was working on Ladybird fairy outside last summer!) I loved your mug rugs in WOCS as soon as I saw them :-) Have a lovely weekend,
Helen

Oh Rhona that's a lovely Dimensions project! They have some beautiful kits don't they, I have a few in my stash waiting on me to stitch them. I do hate separating all the threads though! Your projects are really lovely - what a cute scissor holder!

Lovely strawberry :)

it's looking wonderful! yes, I do hate it when you run out of threads, why don't they test stitch these kits first? I especially hate it when you contact them for more threads and they ignore you!

I love your strawberry :) such a brilliant idea!
What a bugger to run out of threads again.... Fingers crossed they arrive soon and you can keep stitching on this lovely design. I love the seahorse - the back stitch has really added some lovely detail to it :)
Can't wait to see more soon :)

I HATE it when a kit doesn't send enough thread!
One of the reasons I stay away from kits these days.
On the plus side, the couple of times I have had to ask them for more thread, they actually got out pretty quick. Hopefully you don't have to wait long!
BTW, there are a few dimension to DMC conversions out there. Might be handy to have if you enjoy kits :)
Great progress too!

Aiyaiyai!!!!!! That blows about the threads. Hope they arrive soon, but not before you finish Live Simply. HAHA!!

I've always loved Simple Treasures and not seeing your stitched version, I think I might have to slot it in one of these days.

Love your scissor holder. So cute! :D
