Ahh......the guilt!

It's not often that I feel guilty about starting a new cross stitch project - or any project for that matter - but guilt got to me this time!

After finishing off the lighthouse design (see previous post) I was eagerly anticipating a new start and trying to decide which of my three new kits I would start on....each of them wonderful and all crying out to be picked first! Unfortunately...or maybe it's fortunately, I'm not sure.... I only have two scroll frames that are the correct size for any of the new projects, and guess what....they both have WIP's on them. And that, dear friends, is where the guilt comes in. One of these WIP's  would have to vacate the scroll frame for the new project to be started....so which one?  One I want to finish...and will finish (eventually!) and the other I kind of want to finish but would need to frog quite a bit of it ( I'm not happy with the shading) and I know that if I take it off the frame, I'd probably never go back to it.
So...what to do...remove one that I want to finish, or remove the other knowing that it would be relegated to a UFO?

Guilt, guilt, guilt!

Since I'm fortunate enough to have a few projects to keep me busy for a while, maybe the best thing to do to banish the guilt would be to actually complete at least one of the WIP's.....logical, uh?

Soooo, I'm back working on Twilight Fairy!

Here's where I left her....

...and I can't believe that it was November when I last worked on her (oh, more guilt!) ....and here she is now...

.....ahh...feeling a bit less guilty now! I WILL get her finished!

And in case you're curious to know what the design on the other scroll frame is (my almost UFO)....it's this one...

...and the strange thing is, I have seen other bloggers working on this and it looks wonderful....so why does the shading on the bodice part really bother me? Maybe it's something as simple as I've used the wrong colour of thread! :) Anyhoo....hopefully this Geisha won't end up as a UFO...but I can't promise!!!

Until next time...happy stitching!

Wow you got a lot of stitching done quickly on Twilight Fairy. So pretty. I think the geisha looks great, I don't see the problem with the bodice. Have you looked at the picture, because sometimes I realize what I thought looked wrong actually looks right when photographed and just needs to be finished.

Great stitching progress in your Fairy project. Well done for resisting the new start. The Geisha looks right to me, mine looks the same. What part of the bodice is bothering you?

So glad you're back stitching Twilight Fairy!! I love this one & your daughter will love it too :D I saw the kit in my LNS and thought of you (and was also really tempted in purchasing it too!).
I had the geisha a loooong time ago... worked on it for a bit and ended up putting it in the bin, would you believe?! She drove me insane & simply couldn't cope with her. I truly hope your won't come to that because it's such a beautiful design. The main thing is that you enjoy stitching her :)

Twilight Fairy is so pretty and you stitched loads! Good call to continue with her.
I've enlarged the geisha photo and had a good look and the bodice looks fine to me too!

Good for you for working on Twilight fairy and adding some more stitches to her! I'm like you with the guilt too. Too many beautiful WIP's to finish before starting another. I think the bodice looks fine on the geisha but not sure what it supposed to look like. Will there be backstitching afterwords? Maybe some backstitching would help?

Wow, that is a lot of progress. I too am in the same boat...so many WIP's and not enough time to get them done. xx

huh! I can beat you guilt hands down. I haven't stitched for at least a year now.

I love the Twilight Fairy - she is so pretty! Hope you figure out what is wrong with the Geisha, though she looks good to me!

My solution would be to buy a new scroll frame!!!
Lovely to see Twilight Fairy again :o)

I like stitching Noni's idea that's what I would do but working on a wip works too. Well done on working it all out in the end with Twilight Fairy. She is looking great.

Wow beautiful progress!! I think the way you explained it shows you don't enjoy working on the piece. Stitching is supposed to be fun and something we love to do. So I say take it off and start what you want to start. Have fun! Maybe one day you will want to work on her again. Until then....enjoy your other pieces.

Oh my word your Twilight Fairy is gorgeous! I hope you enjoy stitching on her once again. I hadn't noticed it til you pointed it out but that shading on the geisha does look a little funky... hmm... how annoying! I'm sure you will come up with a workaround... have a lovely Easter,
