Kokeshi doll

Do you ever get those longings for a quick stitch, just so you can have a finish to feel good about completing something? That's the way I felt at the weekend.....soooo...this month's World of Cross Stitching mag to the rescue with their fab free kit....

Although these cuties came with threads and fabric (and everything else you'd need) already in the packet, they are a great way to use up those left over threads that we all have saved, so they can be stitched many times. I also love the fact that you can change out the different patterns/hairstyles etc and make the designs really unique.

As you can see, I decided to alter the colours used in this design. It shouldn't take too long to make this in to a card.

So that was my quick almost-a-finish for the weekend!

I haven't neglected Max the cat either! He almost has a face now....

....can you tell why I wanted to stitch this design? My very own real life version (times two) of Max!

Until next time....happy stitching!

I know exactly what you mean about needing a quick finish sometimes! Your Kokeshi doll is adorable, and so are your two kitties. :) Max the Cat is really coming along!

Yes sometimes a quick finish is definitely needed. Great job! Love the colors you used. Your Maxes are too cute and so is your WIP Max.

Another fan of quick finishes here - instant gratification! I treated myself to that magazine last week so also have the lovely dolls to stitch.
Max the Cat is looking great - all he needs are two eyes!

Well done on your little finish; such a cute design. Glad to see Max back again too. I just hope your two aren't getting jealous of him! :)

Definitely know what you mean with quick finishes! I am on a few big projects right now, so I absolutely long for a small project! I have just today rediscovered a bookmark kit I might do to get a quick finish! It's so satisfying.
Beautiful projects, I did a kokeshi doll a few years ago, they are very nice to stitch :)

Cover kits are great for instant gratification. These are very cute.

I try to include some smalls among my larger pieces too.
