Starting the month with a finish!

It's a holiday weekend here.....and a three day weekend is always welcomed. Plans for having a relaxing three days of stitching haven't come to fruition but I'm hoping to spend some time with needle and thread tonight....keep your fingers crossed for me :)

I did manage to have a quick little finish this past week....yay me! Another little card added to my stock pile....

This is another design from The World of Cross Stitching magazine. The double sided tape seems not to be holding near the pom-pom of the hat so there's a bit of a gap between the stitching and the card.....and you all know how OCD I am about things being just right :) I think I might have to bring out the glue!

Here's my design that was featured in the magazine this month...

....some cute little animals that they made into an adorable bunting....

I also picked up the strawberries design....this one I need to get finished.....

As much as I'm loving this design, I can feel myself being drawn to a new start. This often happens to me when I am getting close to finishing a design but there's still lots to be done. It's almost as if the novelty of a new start has worn off, but the excitement of a finish is too far off. Once the end is in sight, then I have renewed vigor and can stitch all night to have something completed....anyone else like this? Please say I'm not the only one that has this affliction :)

Luckily for me, this design doesn't have too much back stitching, so I'm not dreading having to do it all at the end.

Hope you all have a great week.

Until next time....happy stitching!

Rhona

I am exactly the same, and not just with cross-stitch but crochet too. At the minute I'm nearing the end of a late wedding stitcher for my cousin. There is loads of back stitching - ugh - but I'm trying to be disciplined and just finish it!
Live the animal bunting, and your strawberries are lovely :)

Your strawberry is looking good. It won't be much longer before you have a finish on it. Your stitched card is adorable as is the bunting you created.

Those animals are so cute! Also I know what you mean about being in the bored stage it's too long to a finish but you need to push through!

Lovely card!! Your designs in the magazine are so cute :) The strawberry stitching is looking beautiful. I have no particular way of liking towards new or ending projects. But I don't like changes and I am so incapable of switching between multiple projects like many other stitchers manage so easily. Sometimes after ending a project, I go into a stitching block for few days evenif I have so many ideas on my to do list.

Love your card Rhona...it's adorable. I'm like you with things being just right. I really love the baby banner with all of your designs...it is so special and pretty. Great job on the strawberries too. RJ@stitchingfriendsforver

Another cute card for the stash!
I've got a couple of WIPs which are not in my main rotation so I can pick them up for a day if I'm not feeling the scheduled project for that day.

Sweet card and your animals are just precious!
The strawberries look wonderful and you are not alone with that affliction!

Rhona, I love your designs and love how you create cards with them, this one is just adorable! Do you have many projects going at the same time? I used to work on one at a time but got a bit bored doing it that way and now I have a few going at the same time and I think that helps from getting tired working on the same thing. I love your strawberries and looking forward to seeing how you finish this stitch.Mary

Cute little hedgehog finish! The strawberries are looking great too :-) Yes, I start thinking of something new round about then too, especially with stitchy projects! This could be part of why I started the year with 17 ufos ;-) Happy stitching!
