This was a gift from my hubby.....for Christmas 😊....
.......guess DMC didn't make enough of these tins to keep up with the demand at Christmas time when he placed the order. I'm not complaining.... a gift at any time is always wonderful....and new threads (or anything to do with cross stitching) is always appreciated! I'm torn between ripping the threads out of the tin and using them or just leaving them in there, in all their glory, all colour graded and in numerical order......oh what to do, what to do?!!!! 😏
Well the blues are still firmly here, but that's a good thing.....it's the blue threads.....nothing else. Slowly but surely I'm getting on with those blue birds....well, technically it's the background as the birds are finished! I'm beginning to wonder whether or not to do the border round this design....the thought of even more blues is just too much!
The cardinal design also has blues in it, so I thought I should try to do some of the blue while there are some of the reds and pinks still to stitch, so that I don't go completely crazy stitching blues at the end, but I didn't get far with that plan......here's where I was last post....
....and here's where I am today.....
Now I'm going to go back and look lovingly at all those glorious new colours of DMC threads....and maybe get some blue stitching done!
Until next time....happy stitching!

Lovely stitching Rhona! I gave one of those tins to Ingrid for Christmas, and she gave one to me! I haven't taken any threads out yet, but I've just ordered a SamSarah kit from Nashville Market which uses all 35 of the new colours.
I have serious thread envy. x
Save them in the tin until you need them! Fondle and admire :)
The bluebirds look lovely as they are so I would imagine they would be fine with no border and the cardinal is so sweet. Of all the birds in the world, I would love to have them here!
That tin is wonderful Rhona. I would use them but I can see why you are tempted to leave them perfectly as is because they look fantastic. What beautiful colors. You are getting so close on the bluebirds and they look so pretty. And the cardinal almost looks real...it is gorgeous and pops so on the black. Great stitching my friend. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever
What a though gift! Those new colours really are lovely. And that red In your cardinal! So bright, it will look spectacular!
Love the red bird on the black, makes it stand out. Sill like the blue ones. Great progress. For myself I'm only going to buy the new dmc if I get a chart asking for them, but they are pretty. Happy Stitching!
You have made beautiful progress on both pieces. I still am in love with the cardinal on the black fabric. Just gorgeous!
oh che bel regalo, bravo il marito! Bellissimi i ricami
Hang in there, the blues will be over soon! I just love your cardinal, he looks like he can fly off the fabric!! Mary
Oh, those new threads are delightful--enjoy! I haven't purchased them yet...
Lovely bird finishing--that cardinal is so striking on the black fabric!
Beautiful stitching! The blue birds are looking pretty! Lovely gift from your husband:)
I agree with Sharon, I'm leaving mine in the tin until they are needed! They look so lovely. As do both all your birds!
Wonderful gift and wonderful stitching Rhona.
Yay for you, Christmas in March! Your birds look lovely so far.
