Oh no......more distractions!

As if Pinterest wasn't enough of a time waster  source of inspiration for me, I've discovered another wonderful site just for crafty people. WARNING - if you don't want to fritter away hours at a time please do not read the next sentence which has the name of the site, and jump to the next paragraph! The site is called Craftgawker.com and has loads of wonderful things to drool over. Please do not blame me for all those hours that will just disappear once you log on!

Anyhoo, on to some stitching. I still seem to be finding it hard to get any stitching time, I really must make a plan and carve out some 'me' time! Here's my update on Simple Treasures....

I'm hoping to really get lots of it done next week....fingers crossed!

Yesterday, the postie delivered this months World Of Cross Stitching magazine. And true to form, it's another doozie of an issue with some fantastic designs to add to the old to-do list! Here's my mermaid design from this issue ....

....hope you like her!

I'm off to try to get a few more stitches into Simple Treasures before Mum's Taxi service is required....again!

Until next time...happy stitching!

And the winner is.....

....fanfare please.....

                Nia!

Congratulations Nia! One seashell chart will be winging it's way to you.

I'm off to get some stitching done....I'm having serious withdrawal symptoms as I haven't stitched for ages! Hopefully after tonight's stitching session I'll have some progress on Simple Treasures to show you.

Until next time...happy stitching!

Something to smile about....and a giveaway!

Finally.....something to smile about! A little bundle of joy named Cameron....

My niece gave birth to this blonde cutie pie on Friday....isn't he gorgeous? Just wish I was there to give him a cuddle.

Don't worry, little Cameron is not the prize in the giveaway! :)

Last week I was working on a commission for one of the craft mags (you know these designs that I can never show you until the magazine has been published!) and I used a lovely aida fabric called Carolina linen. This was the first time I've used this fabric and it was lovely to work with. I'll definitely be using it again! Anyway, the fabric came with a free chart, which is beautiful but I know I'll never get round to stitching it...so...it's up for grabs!

Here's  a picture of the chart....

You know the drill for these sorts of things....just be a follower of my blog and leave a comment. I'll randomly pick a name one week from today.

Until next time...happy stitching!

Late....again!

Ooops....late again!

Here's this months ort collection....

Some gorgeous colours in the jar from some secret stitching which I should be able to show you in a few months time when the design is published! It's so frustrating to have stitched for days and days and not to be able to show it.....roll on publication date!

Until next time...happy stitching!

Sorry!

First of all I need to apologize for not updating my blog for a while.  A family tragedy back in the UK as well as my Dad undergoing surgery has turned life upside down. It's a times like this that I wish we didn't live on the other side of the world!

Anyhoo, as you can imagine, not much stitching has been done although I long for the relief and relaxation that stitching can bring. Here's where I was the last time I showed you Simple Treasures...

And here's where I am now...

Hopefully I will be able to get the old needle out and have it working overtime soon!

My postman did bring a bit of a ray of sunshine by delivering this month's World of Cross Stitching magazine which has my Nautical Alphabet in it.....

As you can tell by the picture, the sun decided to make an appearance and has made the picture a bit blurry at the bottom!

And a quick update for everyone who helped out my daughter by posting on her blog, which was for one of her courses at uni.....she got a A!!! Thanks you so much to everyone who posted about their country's superstitions, she couldn't have done it without all those wonderful people taking time to post -  and they were very interesting to read!

Until next time....happy stitching!
